History

The Cullen Foundation of Western New York, Inc. is an independent, private foundation dedicated to enhancing education for students in grades pre-K through 12 and advancing performing arts for Erie County, New York.

The Foundation was created by the late John “Jack” S. Cullen II. His estate provided the funding for the foundation.

Sale of Jack Cullen’s company, Multisorb; proceeds of sale pass to Foundation

October 2014

Foundation staff hired; opens office in Buffalo, New York

Adoption of Strategic Plan

Foundation begins to accept applications through its biannual Responsive Grant Cycle

The Cullen Foundation, a charitable trust, transfers its assets to the newly formed charitable corporation, The Cullen Foundation of Western New York, Inc. The charitable uses, purposes, directors and staff remain the same.
